The 2015 Summer Retreat with Anam Thubten will be held at Mount Madonna center, a conference and retreat center located on 355 acres of mountain-top redwood forest and grassland overlooking Monterey Bay, between Santa Cruz and Monterey, in Northern California.
The retreat starts on Wednesday, August 12 at 4:00 pm and ends Tuesday, August 18 at 1:00 pm. The daily schedule will include alternating periods of meditation and teaching, beginning with early morning meditation and ending in the evening. To support our *turning inward, we will observe silence throughout this retreat.
All accommodation choices are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. When the retreat fills, we will institute a waiting list.
You may register using credit card or check, with full payment due upon registration.
Important Information
- Cancellation policy: Full refund up to July 1, and then, full refund if we are able to fill your space.
- Accommodations, including the number and types of rooms are limited, and are expected to sell out; therefore, early registration by July 1 is recommended.
- If you have a roommate request, there will be space to enter that on your registration form.
- While we will make every effort to meet your accommodations request, we will ask for a second housing choice, in the event that some rooms become unavailable. If we need to make a change we will contact you by email.
- If you have special housing needs, contact Nan at nan.parks@yahoo.com prior to registering.
- This retreat is open only to those who are able to attend the full retreat. For those of you who would like to attend a retreat with Anam Thubten but are not able to be present for the full six days, please check the Dharmata Website calendar for the numerous other residential retreats offered throughout the year.
- Delicious, vegetarian meals are included with your registration. Outside food is not permitted at Mount Madonna Center. Vegan and Gluten-Free options are offered at each meal. There is a space on your registration form to indicate special dietary needs.
Please note that registration fees cover the cost of room and board and Dharmata administrative fees only. It is customary for students to have the opportunity to practice generosity in gratitude and support of the teacher and his teachings. If you would like to make a monetary gift (dana) to Anam Thubten, there will be a place to do so at the retreat. (Cash or checks only please.)
Financial Aid
A limited number of spaces are available for those seeking financial aid in the form of scholarship, reduced fee, payment options, and/or work exchange options. Please do not register for the event until your application is approved, at which time you will receive instructions on how to register. Applications will be accepted up until June 1, and on a case by case basis after that.
